IA Renewal Training Program

IA Renewal Training Program
All AMTs are encouraged to attend. 
 

Each seminar in AMTSocietys IA Renewal Consortium meets the requirements contained in FAR 65.93(a)(4) for Inspection Authorization (IA) renewal training and is acceptable towards 8 hours of training for IA renewal and the FAA AMT Awards Program. In addition to AMTSocietys IA renewal training, YOU MUST also comply with the “actively engaged” requirements in FAR 65.91(c)(1)-(4) to meet the requirements of IA renewal.

Cost is $21 to current AMTSociety Members who register in advance at least one week prior to the event.
On-site registration will be $49.00.
Non-Members who register before the event will be charged $70, which includes a one year membership to the AMTSociety.
Non-Members registering on-site will be charged $98 (includes the membership).

Registration online will be closed one week prior to the event.

Displaced Comair Employees find work Thru Avjobs Cares Reemployment Service

LITTLETON, CO (August 1, 2012) – Avjobs, Inc. makes services available to all 1700 displaced employees of Comair with the highest level of reemployment assistance. All displaced employees of Comair are eligible to receive free reemployment assistance through Avjobs Cares Reemployment Services.

The Avjobs Cares Discount Program is designed to ease the transition of displaced aviation employees and allow the industry to recapture quality talent. The program provides
Comair participants with an extended free service period added to the end of an existing accounts' regular billing cycle. The extended free period is normally six (6) months of additional service but has been extended for Comair participants to twelve (12) full months. If you have been affected by the Delta Comair announcement, you may be eligible for an additional twelve (12) months free service on your existing account.

To receive the Avjobs Cares Discount for Comair, you must meet the following eligibility requirements

  1. Be displaced from Comair
  2. The severance has already occurred
  3. Have lost your job within the last year (365 days)
  4. Have a letter of displacement or severance from Comair (this must include your last date of employment for verification purposes)

FAQ’s and Common Questions

I just received my severance letter and will lose my job in 30 days, am I still eligible?
Applicants are not eligible for the Comair Discount until they are officially unemployed. However, if you sign up today, you can start searching and applying for jobs immediately. The day you are no longer employed, you become eligible for the Comair Discount and can send in the qualifying documentation for processing.

My company told me they no longer needed me, but didn’t give me a letter, can I still qualify?
Depending on your separation whether it be layoff, furlough, terminations, closures, downsizing, mergers, or bankruptcy, you should receive notice. If you did not, contact your previous employer and request documentation in writing.  In some states, employers are required to continue to pay you until they have provided you with official written notice.

I’m a contract employee, am I able to take advantage of this discount?
In order to receive the Cares Discount you have to be unemployed through no fault of your own. If you quit your job you are voluntarily unemployed and are ineligible to receive the Cares Discount. If advance notice of separation is known and agreed upon such as contact positions, early retirement, or resignation, you would not be able to take advantage of this discount.

If I sign up for this, what do I get?
The program provides members with free access to the Avjobs Applicant System with Premier Job Seeker account privileges from the time of the receipt of your qualifying discount request for one full year (365 days).  Request form and supporting documentation may be mailed at any time within 365 days of your separation while your account is active. All Premier Job Seeker billing intervals qualify for the Comair discount. The cost of the initial registration period must be paid in advance and the free period will be added to the end of your paid period.
